Converse Allstar
In my last post I mentioned I was going to purchase some Converse, (I know Iv blown the saving of money) because I'v been eyeing them up for months on the internet and in store. I haven't actually bought shoes/clothing for about two and a half months so thought I'd treat myself. I bought them, three days ago now and I have worn them every day since buying them ahaa. I absolutely love them, although they are not the comfiest... They have ripped my little feet to death! Literally. They were suppose to be £40 but because I have student discount they come down to £36 which I thought was good and made me feel like I hadn't spent so much money oout of my piggy bank. (ps please ignitor my uneven leggings didn't notice they were like that until looking back ooopie!)

Yankee Candle tarts
Recently i have bought a few Yankee Candle tarts. I never actually knew what these were until I saw a video on Youtube (ahaa silly me). but if your a bit silly like me, its just like the wax part of a candle with no wick. You can purchase the actual tart burners but i thought 'oh there there just the same as oil burners' (were you put the oil in the top and the tee light candle under, and i was correct! I have been loving these and so does my mum, she's turned into a yankee lover. It's just a great way to test out the different cents, because lets face it Yankee candles aren't thee cheapest when your on a budget...
B&Q do yankee candles but im not sure if they are different in some sort. They are called Yankee Candle Simply Home and they smell the same and things but they do have a different range and they are slightly cheaper, I think the Tarts i got from there were about 90p each and in Clinton cards the normal Yankee candle tarts are around £1.20.
The tarts I have tried are: Cherry Vanilla (simply home range), Bartlett Pear (Simply home range), Vanilla Cupcake, Vanilla Satin, Country Lemonade. I have to say they are all lush! but i think if I had to pick my favorite it would be Vanilla Cupcake or Cherry Vanilla. And as you can see me and my Mum love the vanilla smell ahaha. We was digging all the old oil burners out what Mum has the other week and putting a different one in each room of the house, but we started to chop the tarts in half because they took so long to burn each one down and we wanted to try them all.
We have this oil burner, which is in one of the picture but we wasn't sure if it would melt the wax because it doesn't get really hot (like the flame of a candle) because its electronic. Mum bought it off e-bay and it did work and gives off just as much cent as a normal oil burner click here for that. and click here for yankee candle where there's a huge sale!
Tip- If you chop your wax in half like me, make sure to wrap it in a bit of cling film so it doesn't loose its cent.

Blackheads
Hello everyone, todays post is about blackheads (as you can see from the title). I suffer really badly from blackheads and they haven't ever really gone (all of them) and never come back, if you have read my posts for a while i did a post about skin care and i said I'd only began a proper skin care routine just after christmas. This is probably the main cause of my blackheads. Before I began my skin care routine i only used a makeup wipe to remove the amount of makeup on my face which didn't cleanse or moisturize my skin. Lets just say I had a lot of blocked pores. If you'd like to read my skin care post and see some of the products i use on my skin click here, there will be an updated one soon...
People tend to think blackheads are caused by dirt but there actually not, they are caused by sebum (a type of oil our skin produces) that gets trapped in the pores of our skin and the process of oxidation happens and changes the color of the oil black, sometimes blackheads can be causes by creams and makeup that has sat on the skin and gotten locked into the pores and not cleaned out.Don't try and scrub your skin to death to remove any blackheads, it wont work. the removal of blackheads has to be done overtime. A good way to remove them is steaming you face, either use a face steamer (this is what I'v been using) or fill a bowl with boiling water and put a towel over it and hover you face about it, this will open your pores allowing the blackhead to be removed. when your pores are open (after steaming for aprox 10 minuets) apply and mask which is made from natural ingredients, Lush do some great ones what are designed for different types of skin and different problems. Do this about two times a week. Along with using a natural exfoliater.
I'm defiantly not saying in they will vanish in the first week, like I said they have to be removed over time and you should defiantly see some change (I know I have). Try avoiding harsh things such as: Alcohol, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Mineral Oil, just because product like these will strip your skin which overall will make your skin produce more sebum (the oil that clogs your pores) and you will end up with more blackheads than you began with. Before starting college (last September) I thought blackheads was caused from dirt and exfoliated my skin to much and looking back on what i did i could see that my skin did produce more oils. My skin isn't excessively oily but i have combination skin therefore I have an oily T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) which is where all my blackheads are on my face and the nose and chin are the most common places for people to get blackheads because that is where most people get excessive oil on their face.
Trying to squeeze blackheads also isn't the best idea, they will probably come out but that wont help the root cause of the blackhead so it will just return, you need something that will remove it but also maintain that pore and not let it get clogged again. squeezing and using comedone extractors can damage any skin because your skin is not tough! it can only take so much and pushing and prodding will not help. you could even damage the pores of your skin or make your blackhead become infected. A lot of comedone extractors actually push blackheads into the pore further making it infected and almost impossible to be removed
I hope this post has help (even a little) to you blackhead sufferers, I'm defiantly not an expert in skin but i have learnt some though college and I'm sure this is right!

love, flat shoes
These are the shoes that I have recently lived in. even though they have ripped my feet to shreds I still love them! I'm pretty tall (5'9") so don't feel like i can pull of heels for everyday but I do love flat shoes anyway, I do have some low(ish) heels what i sometimes wear during the day but even them kill my feet aha.
I have to say, these are not the shoes I will wear when I know I'm going to be walking quite far. After i purchased them, me and my Dad went to Bridlington and I wore these and my feet were bleeding, Literally bleeding because they had rubbed at my skin so much *ouch*. Though after wearing them for two months they are almost broken in so are feeling better. They are from Newlook and was £15.00 but with student discount (at the time) they came to about £12.00, which i think is a bargain for some shoes, seen as you can buy shoes for that much at Primark... I have wanted some shoes of this style for ages now and love the ones in Topshop, but the newlook ones are just a better price and have more verity of color.
I can't actually find these ones on the interweb but i have seen them in store in the past week or two, but Dorothy perkins have some really similar ones, sorry guys.....
ps I'm thinking about buying some converse, I know i want the shorter, type ones not the ones that go up your ankle but not sure what color to get, what do you think?

Rimmel 1000 kisses
Hello everyone so recently i bought a 100 kissed lip stain from Rimmel London. I actually had quite highg expectation for these and have been eyeing them up for quite some time now and only just got one. Now, i dont actually like it all that much :(
Its really disappointing, i thought it was going to be great but i find them extremely awkward to apply onto my lips (not sure if thats just me been dopey). I'm not sure if its because im so used to just swiping across my lipstick and with the pen its like im coloring in a picture at primary school again and have to stay within the lines (I've never been good at that). Also they don't stay for long at all, I thought they would because they're a stain sort of thing, but they don't, I'd say they last for about 1-2 hours. They claim to be moisturizing to the lips from the balm what comes on the end of the pen but i wouldn't say that moisturizes what so ever.
Although i do like the little balm thing on the end of it to wear over normal lipsticks, i have been wearing it with my Sleek lipstick in the color papaya punch because its matte and i don't really like matte lipsticks. I shall link you to them here if you want to look at them anyway...

The big bun...
Hello everyone, this is going to be a quite short post but I wanted to show you have I have been wearing my hair recently. Since dying my hair lighter (I used the jerome russell Highlighting kit) I have found it looks really greasy but it's not and I'v just wanted it off my face. All i do is through it into a high pony tail on the top of my head and curl small sections of my pony tail around my finger while pinning it underneath (I hope that makes sense) and when all of it is pinned up pulling some short bits out the front and having a spritz of hair spray.
ps follow me on twitter, @serenwray
Thankyou for reading and commenting, I read and appreciate everyone!xo
